In total, they will be exposed 15 works from the permanent collection of the museum, between the 13th and 20th centuries, which reflect the evolution of women as muse and inspirer of art until they became its creator, finding paintings by renowned artists such as Caravaggio or painters erased from history such as Berthe Morisot.
“Authentic beauty is a timeless quality that becomes more powerful for women over time, as they gain confidence and self-assurance,” says designer Narciso Rodriguez, and that is because, according to the firm, “For Her could have been the fragrance of all the women who star in these paintings, because For Her is the olfactory archetype of timeless beauty”.
That this exhibition is at the Thyssen-Bornemisza is no coincidence. Rodriguez is passionate about art and he has always admired this museum, becoming a frequent visitor during his stay in Madrid between 1997 and 2001: “I was very inspired by it.” This exquisite collaboration between the two offers us today a new and unique perspective on beauty and a new multisensory account of the link between art, women and perfume.
